My piano concerto listening 09 : Ligeti - Piano Concerto (1985-88)

At first, this concerto seemed bizarre to me because of its strong aspect which is melodic. But finally, I found this very high quality music particularly by its tone. It's composed with sounds or some short lines but these objects aren't all time abstract because it contains little bit of melody. And Ligeti mixed and coupled those things up sometimes as a long line like in the plastic art.

I've got to listen it again but my first impression is like there's no remarkable relationship between the piano and the orchestra. Plus, the piano acts timid..lol. But by its timbre, it adds some clarity into this piece. It transform the music into the matter. I suppose also that some passages were the imitation of the electronic sound.

7:00-41 and 19:20-50 was interesting to me. I think I'll listen it again in the near future :-)
